Happy Anniversary Christian Soldiers!

7 years ago this month, Christian Soldiers opened their virtual doors for the first time.  What started as a quest to host a Day of Defeat v3.1b custom map server that offered a family-friendly atmosphere, Christian Soldiers has far exceeded the expectations and vision originally set by the founding members.  We believe we provide a very unique online community experience that extends beyond online multiplayer gaming.  While we've made many mistakes and faced numerous challenges, the community that exists today is only here because of the common bond we share with Jesus Christ.  If there is anything good to be said about this community, He deserves all the credit.

Our journey began in February 2003 when we opened a public Day of Defeat v3.1b server.  We spent many nights trying to build a crowd of regulars. The game provided a unique WW2 gaming experience fueled by the creativity of the game creators.  Who could ever forget the horse statue in the center of dod_caen2?  How about electric or fire alley?  How about the 6 mile hike in the beginning of dod_heutau?  Closest to all our hearts was the struggle to climb the beach head in dod_overlord.

In May 2003, we were newly established and made the transition to Day of Defeat v1.0.  That's right, the game that started as a mod was now a retail game.  While we would all like to forget dod_forest, I think we all fell in love with the Brits in dod_jagd.  And how about those Canadian models with the moving mouths, Fuzzy?

In September 2005, running a clan was old-hat to us.  We eagerly awaited the transition to Day of Defeat:Source.  A significant graphical update to our favorite game.  The greater DOD community is probably still divided over the success of the upgrade.  Christian Soldiers experienced a split in the membership over the decision to drop DOD v1.3 from our server offerings.

Fast forward to May 2008.  Many members of Christian Soldiers were looking for a new game to replace their faded love for DOD:S.  We introduced a COD4 server.  It filled a void for over a year for several members.  In the end, building a Christian Soldiers community in the COD4 arena proved to be more challenging than we first envisioned.  Interest quickly faded after the developers decided to release a new version that could not be hosted by individual game server providers.

Most recently, we expanded in December 2009 to offer Battlefield 2.  A game of similar vintage as DOD:S, but offers more organized teamwork and vehicles.

While the games and faces have changed over the years, the original founders and several of the first clan members are still around 7 years later.  [CS] Revenant and [CS] Jedi would like to thank every one that has contributed time, money and resources to the success of this community.  What started out as a hobby by 2 co-workers 7 years ago in El Paso, Texas has now become a modest virtual community fueled by your contributions and passion.

Onward Christian Soldiers!

BF2Christian Soldiers is pleased to announce the addition of a ranked Battlefield 2 server to our server offerings.

Christian Soldiers started as a DOD clan in February 2003 with two members and has grown to 33 active members who contribute to various aspects of the clan from administrating our servers to helping with our newsletter, medals, and recruitment.

The aim of Christian Soldiers is to provide teamwork oriented, hacker free, family gaming environment with whatever games are offered under the Christian Soldiers banner. Christian Soldiers has been successfully offering a family gaming environment with our DOD server for many years and we look forward to extending this with our introduction of a BF2 server.

What drew the Christian Soldiers clan to open a BF2 server? Many of our clan enjoy the fellowship and camaraderie allowed by the team oriented game of DOD. We felt that a newer game that takes DOD to the next level was needed and BF2 fit the bill. BF2 is a team oriented tactical game that follows through with our clan heritage of teamwork oriented play. BF2 also offers similar hardware requirements to DOD , is very reasonably priced, has a built in rank and reward system, and is still being supported by the developer. In addition several of our members had played BF2 and were familiar with the game.

The inevitable question that always pops up is do I have to be a Christian to play on the Christian Soldier server? The answer is no. Everyone is welcome on our servers. All we ask is that you abide by our rules.

Think you are interested in joining CS? Christian Soldiers is interested in growing the clan through the recruitment of like-minded individuals who value respect for all players and teamwork above all else. Recruiting is based very little on skill and more who you are as a person and how you contribute to your team. Come to our servers often and get involved in our forums so we can get to know you. You never know we may ask you to become a member.

The IP of our ranked BF2 server is 63.209.34.66:16567. We hope to see everyone there!

If you have any questions please feel free to talk with any of our clan members or to post the questions up in our forums.

Welcome to the home of Christian Soldiers...an online community of online gamers founded in February 2003.  In our beginning we focused only on Day of Defeat.  However, we have recently expanded to include Battlefield 2.  We aim to provide a teamwork oriented, hacker-free, family friendly gaming environment. We always welcome like-minded individuals. Our community is based on respect and integrity. We have very simple rules and we ask that you take time to familiarize yourself with them in order to avoid any problems. We look forward to seeing you on our servers and getting a chance to know you. Don't forget to to stop by the forum and chat with us and the rest of the [CS] community. Onward Christians Soldiers!
