My M4d P!tching Sklz

Postby Maugrin on Tue Apr 13, 2010 4:59 pm

I made my first start for my team yesterday, going 4 innings, 2 earned runs on 5 hits, 2 walks and 2 K's. We won the game 8-7.My team doesn't have much depth with our pitching so I hope I can improve to help the team.

Congrats! That's a rough ERA to start with, but I'm sure you'll improve with the season! I can't remember who at the moment, but one of the pro middle relievers got hammered last week, and has an ERA in the high teens or low 20's.

I love baseball (love playing more than watching). My m4d skl was throwing out runners who tagged up on fly balls.

Alas, that was a long time ago, and I have yet to be signed onto the Cardinals' roster as a walk-in. :|

The game's are only six innings long so that's a 3.00 ERA, but I still want to improve.

Same here, I've gained a reputation around the league that you DON'T RUN ON ME! Or I'll make you pay

Congrats Maugrin! I can teach you how to throw a spitter if that will help. Llamas are good at spitting.

I'm pretty sure those are illegal. I throw a mean curveball, but unfortunately that's illegal too.

Sports Science is awesome, second only to MythBusters. Hitting any sort of pitch is difficult especially when the arm angle is different. That's one of the reasons Randy Johnson was so successful.

Jessie pitching from that close AND throwing 70+ MPH AND throwing it from your hip? Hitting that pitch is impossible.
